STATEMENT FROM LIKE MEDIA GROUP:

After discussions with Ofcom in relation to the Isles of Scilly multiplex, they have decided to revoke the licence award. Like Media Group agree with the decision made by Ofcom.

Despite having all the provisions in place (including transport to the isles), to undertake the build and launch of the multiplex, at the start of the month it became apparent that a vital third party involved in the install would be unable to commit to week commencing the 16th of January at the start of the month. Due to the possibility of being off the UK mainland for at least four days (due to transport) Like Media Group have been unable to find a replacement third party within an acceptable timescale. In line with our obligations, Like Media Group alerted Ofcom of the situation at the earliest opportunity and advised of the issue.

Considering Like Media Group have everything in place to undertake the build, and the commitment from service providers show the Isles of Scilly is viable, Like Media Group intend to immediately apply in the readvertisement of the licence, with the technical plans that were submitted and approved by Ofcom.

Like Media Group would like to thank UK DAB Networks and Ofcom for their help in relation to the multiplex, and hope it is rewarded to Like DAB Limited, to enable to the build to commence immediately upon award.
